Overland’s Design and Manufacturing Team liaise with their clients at every stage from concept to completion to ensure their exact requirements are met.
A recent project saw a client ask us to build a 4 wheel drive vehicle with a cherry picker and tipping body. The vehicle required ample storage space for equipment & tools, along with the ability to be driven on a standard car licence.
Our design team researched the market and found that the 4 wheel drive 7.5tonne Mitsubishi Canter had a class leading weight carrying capacity, and therefore would be the ideal vehicle.
The next requirement to be met was the boom.
The client specified it had to have an outreach of 9.5m in the lowered position, and have a working height of at least 16m.
The Nifty HR15 was selected for its outstanding configuration and 9.5m outreach and 16.5m working height.
Design for the tipping body and equipment boxes was the next challenge.
The tipping box was designed to carry a one tonne payload, again as specified.
Large tool boxes for equipment & tools were formed & fitted with an Eberspacher hot & cold running water system with drying facilities.
This saw the completion of the fabrication works and the truck sent to the spray shop for painting in the Clients corporate colour scheme.
The vehicle was completed ahead of schedule & delivered to a delighted Client.
